Award-Winning Architect Zaha Hadid Heads to Downtown Miami

As the first woman to win the Pritzker Prize, architect Zaha Hadid, has had her name on some of the world’s most impressive architectural installations: The London Aquatics Centre built for the 2012 Summer Olympics, the MAXXI – National Museum of the 21st Century Arts in Rome, the Guangzhou Opera House in China, the BMW Central Building in Germany and the Chanel Mobile Art Pavilion in Tokyo, Hong Kong, New York, London, Paris and Moscow.

And despite the fact that she has created everything from art galleries and hotels to major complexes and high-tech corporate buildings, everywhere from Austria to South Korea, they all have one thing in common: her characteristic powerful design, abstract shapes and curious futuristic elements.

Now taking her talents to Miami, Zaha’s company, Zaha Hadid Architects, has been charged with designing the visionary’s first skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere: Miami’s One Thousand Museum. Located in the heart of opulent Downtown Miami, directly across from the new Pérez Art Museum Miami, this swank and trendy residence building is redefining the standard of luxury living in the Magic City.

Comprising 62 floors of 83 half and full-floor residences, duplex townhouses and duplex penthouses — each of which boast four, five and six bedrooms and oversized balconies — Miami’s One Thousand Museum will house some of the largest residences in all of South Florida. Going beyond simply building a place for its residents to sleep, this luxury locale will also include a contemporary and art-inspired sculptural sun and swim terrace, two floors of indoor-outdoor wellness and spa facilities, a private movie theater, Sky Lounge, two-story aquatic center, and pending approval, even a private rooftop helipad.

With an all-star collaboration team headed by Zaha herself, developers Louis Birdman and Gregg Covin, and ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, One Thousand Museum will boast an unprecedented fusion of art, architecture, design, location and luxury — one that is sure to make it Miami’s most sought-after abode.

One Thousand Museum will be located at 1000 Biscayne Boulevard. As this project broke ground last December, units are already being pre-sold through ONE Sotheby’s International Realty
