Miami: Chef Adrienne Grenier’s “Tupelo” Pop-Up Makes Life a Little Sweeter

When 3030 Ocean – at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa – closed down temporarily for renovations, hungry fans everywhere were distraught. Fortunately, the must-try locale’s talented chef, Adrienne Grenier, found an interim alternative: Tupelo, a delicious pop-up concept inspired by none other than the incredibly rare Tupelo honey tree.

Chef Adrrienne Grenier

With her signature cooking style and inherent creativity, Adrienne Grenier has quickly proven Tupelo to be as delectable as the honey for which it is named. Born and raised in South Florida, she honed much of her career at 3030 Ocean, following a 2011 stint at 1500°, at the prestigious Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach; both under the tutelage of 3030 Ocean’s previous chef, Paula DaSilva. Her style and prestige helped 1500° become the only Florida restaurant in food critic John Mariani’s annual Esquire magazine feature, “The Best New Restaurants in America,” and in 2012, it led her to earn the title as champion of Food Network’s Chopped.

Open for dinner seven nights a week, Chef Grenier’s project has a purposely-whimsical menu designed to encourage guests to share – offering curiously-creative handcrafted cocktails, and small and large plates of everything from fresh, locally sourced salads to sweet-ending desserts. And having opened just three weeks ago, the eatery already has notable fan favorites. High on the list? Its signature warm cheddar biscuits with honey butter; shishito peppers with lime aioli; roasted chicken with chorizo rice grits and black bean puree; the “Bees Knees” martini of gin, Tupelo honey-infused syrup, fresh lemon and rosemary; and the crème de la crème of an already amazing meal, the Grenier-inspired twist on a childhood classic: a root-beer float.

Riva 2

Backed by a casual fun-meets-chic backdrop of upbeat music, communal tables and beautiful views of the resort’s oceanfront property, Tupelo’s pop-up concept lets hungry guests to take a break from reality and revel time with each other – which, much like honey, is one of life’s sweetest gifts.

Tupelo will be open until Friday, October 23rd beginning at 6 PM nightly. It is located in Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa’s “Riva” restaurant space, at 3030 Holiday Drive.
