Island Gardens Welcomes First-Ever Superyacht Miami Show

The Deck At Island Gardens Sneak Peak

In Miami, we live by one credo: the bigger the yacht, the better. And with the introduction of the first-ever Superyacht Miami Show just this past weekend, the Magic City proved that to be true.

Taking place February 11th to the 15th at the new Island Gardens, on Watson Island, this Show Management event brought together a collection of 24 superyachts worth more than $800M combined. With some of the yacht world’s most notable stunners on display – like Benetti’s 206-ft. 11/11, and the “Queen of the Show,” the 253-ft Silver Fast by Burgess Yachts, to name a couple – it only made sense that the marina kick-off the long-weekend event in fabulous Miami fashion. Throwing a “Berth-Day” celebration unlike any other, Island Gardens and the project’s pioneer, Flagstone Property Group CEO Mehmet Bayraktar, invited esteemed guests and members of the international yachting community to an elegant soirée under the stars. Attracting only Miami’s finest, this Friday night fiesta featured live music, signature Island Gardens cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres, and of course, the world’s hottest superyachts on full display; all amidst a backdrop of the glamorous Miami skyline.

As the only marina in North America that can hold yachts up to 550 feet in length, this new addition to Miami’s see-and-be-seen waters offers an incomparable 5,000 linear feet of docking space, meaning it can fit a total 50 superyachts, as well as drafts of 18-21 feet deep. And it’s not done yet. By 2017 or 2018, this marina is expected to be a full-blown fabulous compound, one with two luxury hotels, hotel-serviced and branded living, a waterfront promenade with retail and restaurants, and a water taxi transportation system between Miami mainland and Miami Beach.
