Women who want to look polished and powerful look to New York designer Jason Wu. Since 2007, Jason has been creating timeless classics with a sophisticated modern twist. This season was no exception. Asymmetrical cutouts were all over Wu’s runway. Layering and mixing textures and patterns made this an easy, younger take on the fierce customer who has grown to love him. The lady-like chiffon dresses and show-stopping gowns were just the tip of the iceberg. As each piece came down the runway it felt like a new string of DNA had entered the house of Wu instantly elevating the brand.

Burch showcased her latest collection in the ever-so-gorgeous garden of the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum on the Upper East Side. The crisp weather matched the freshness of the collection. This season, Burch is full of fun, flamboyant and bold prints where she said she drew inspiration from the legendary interior decorator and designer, David Hicks . Burch proclaimed, “His fearless witty take on color and prints have made a lasting impression on our brand and me.” Almost everything had the ever-so-easy throw on and go feel to it, but without sacrificing Burch’s signature sophistication. Perfect for a beach getaway, the light fabrics and bold prints mean fun-in-the-sun this Spring.
.Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs’s spring line will speak to the woman who desires to be strong yet still feminine and who wants to make a bold statement without saying a word. This spring the duo designers showcased off-the-shoulder dresses, high-cut slits trimmed in ruffles on trousers (yes, trousers), and bright, eye-catching prints to bring the looks together. As the starting point for this season’s vibrant color palette the Cushnie et Ochs credit their inspiration from the famed artist Frida Kahlo quote, “I paint flowers so they will not die.” Appreciation to the inspiration of Kahlo’s fiery yet sensual spirit, Cushnie et Ochs took an airy direction this spring with their use of a vibrant color palate, and lady like silhouettes.
