The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay is one of the best hotels in Northern California. It sits on a cliff perched above the sea and has gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. The resort has two championship golf courses, a tranquil spa, luxe guest rooms, unique culinary programing, and interesting experiences like a drone academy. As if these weren’t enough reasons to book a trip south immediately, now comes the news that the hotel has debuted its new lobby and all-day eatery, The Conservatory.

Earth tones and shades of gray are featured throughout along with woven rattan rugs, warm hardwood floors, and bronze finishes. Blue accents and sleek contemporary furniture give The Conservatory a modern beach house vibe.

Executive chef Xavier Salomon’s food is available from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The chef combines locally grown produce, fine fish and meats, and classic French technique to create comforting and delicious dishes. There are an assortment of towers—stacked appetizers that display seafood, cheese, charcuterie, and vegetables; vegetable centric-dishes like grilled carrots with cherry tomatoes and roasted garlic caper vinaigrette; as well as larger plates.

Think heritage pork chop with lentils and eggplant, rich and hearty cioppino, and grilled bavette steak with caramelized cipollini onions and crisp potatoes. A dessert menu includes a sensational-sounding salted caramel sundae and decadent Valrhona pot de creme.

The cocktail program features elements inspired by the coast and drinks on draft. The Redlands is a tempting concoction of Meyer lemon-infused tequila, orange liqueur, and egg whites. The new bar also has an extensive selection of rare bourbons that guests can enjoy.
