The serenity of his spring/summer 2021 show, which saw a handful of models gracefully walk a wooden runway that snaked through a wheat field outside of Paris, demonstrated Simon Porte Jacquemus’ gifted eye for all things beautiful. So naturally, we’re hoping the 31-year-old French designer takes notes from his work in the fashion industry when leaping into the realm of beauty.

Last week, a WWD article reported that Jacquemus will partner with Spanish beauty company Puig—whose brand portfolio boasts Jean Paul Gaultier, Dries Van Noten and Christian Louboutin—to venture into the beauty world with his eponymous label. Although Jacquemus has yet to disclose the potential beauty line himself, the first launch will apparently be released in 2022.

The lack of information on the nature of the launch has stimulated speculation about what to expect, but the simplistic elegance and fresh-faced aesthetic that embodies Jacquemus’ brand drives the assumption that he’ll promote high-quality, natural products for a “more is less” look.

For the most part, Puig’s brands notably guide high fashion labels toward the parfumerie industry, but they also partner with the widely successful luxury makeup brand Charlotte Tilbury. That being said, there’s still so much left to the imagination with Jacquemus’ supposed beauty line, but we’ll continue hoping it will be just as stunning as the clothes he creates.
