A Scar Less Facelift is a technique designed to correct the body’s own aging process. How your face ages is like a domino effect. When the brow begins to droop, it gives the appearance of excess upper eyelid skin and a tired or sleepy look to the eyes. Aging causes facial sagging, which results in folds alongside the nose, and jowls and loose skin under the chin. Haute Beauty’s cosmetic surgery expert, Dr. Robert Vitolo recommends the Scar Less Facelift combined with a Scar Less Brow Lift to transform your now tired aging face back to its once young-looking face.

Haute Beauty: In your Scar Less Breast Augmentation the incision is in the belly button, where do you place the Scar Less Facelift incision?

Dr. Robert Vitolo: There are only two one-inch incisions and they are placed in the hair above the ears. I do not cut the hair and there is no hair loss. Since the scar is placed in the hair, it is not visible, hence we call it a Scar Less Facelift.

HB: At what age would someone be an ideal candidate for a Scar Less Facelift?

RV: Patients in their mid-30s to 60s are great candidates for a Scar Less Facelift. Since each patient is unique it all depends on the particular characteristics of the patient’s face. Individuals with a moderate amount of facial wrinkles, jowls around the jawline and that “tired look” all the time can see excellent results from a Scar Less Facelift.

Scar Less Brow and Mid Facelift

HB: What is the most common procedure you combine with a Scar Less Facelift?

RV: Usually, when a Scar Less Facelift is performed, we combine a Scar Less Brow Lift. As you age, the whole face changes. Your brow droops,  and your upper eyelid skin begins to touch your eyelashes so we often combine both operations at the same time. The Scar Less Brow Lift elevates the brow by repositioning it to where it was before the aging took place. As a result, the upper eyelid skin is lifted without causing any scarring on the eyelid. All this is accomplished by making three, one-half-inch incisions in the hair at the brow hairline.

HB: When can a patient resume normal activity post-procedure?

RV: In both procedures, no hair is cut, the hairline is not elevated and there is no hair loss. The tiny incisions are not visible. Patients can resume activities typically around four to five days following the procedure.

HB: Are there any oral medications or topical creams to stop using before the procedure?

RV: Patients need to stop using any retinol-type creams before the surgery. Specifically, aspirin or products containing it should be discontinued two weeks prior and Advil for about five days before. Also patients should refrain from drinking alcohol for five days before.
