HB: What are the issues associated with lip filler that would cause someone to want to get their filler dissolved?
There could be different reasons for a patient to want their fillers dissolved. The most common ones are overfilled areas leading to unnatural results, fillers being injected too superficially, therefore, creating lumps and nodules, unevenly injected fillers, or product migration. The most serious reason for needing fillers dissolved is the emergency cases, where the filler is unintentionally injected into a blood vessel, and this causes a blockage that can stop blood flow and diffusion of necessary oxygen to the tissue.
HB: How does the lip filler dissolver injection work?
Lip dissolvers consist of Hyaluronidase, a soluble protein enzyme that is typically used to break down the hyaluronic acid found in fillers. Hyaluronidase breaks up the bonds that hold the Hyaluronic acid molecules together.
HB: Are there limitations to the lip filler dissolver you use?
This treatment is safe; however, there is a small risk of an allergic reaction. Other side effects are temporary discomfort, redness, swelling, and bruising.

HB: Does it require more than one treatment?
Hyaluronidase works well but may require multiple sessions. This all depends on the amount of filler injected, the built-up of filler over time, or the integration of filler into the tissue.
HB: What is the process like of getting lip filler dissolved?
The process is fast. A topical anesthetic is used prior to the injection, in order to minimize the discomfort. Results are fast, with most patients seeing the filler dissolved in the first 24 hours. The recovery is minimal, with mild discomfort, swelling, and bruising. A follow-up appointment is necessary to reassess and determine if more dissolving sessions are necessary.
