THE SCENE: DIOR

During Art Basel Miami, The Miami Design District solidified its position as the hautest destination in town by welcoming a number of high fashion pop-up boutiques featuring collaborations between fashion retailers and artists, including the debut of Anselm Reyle’s new accessory collection for Christian Dior.

The accessories pop-up store opened on Nov. 28 with a series of events and remained one of the hautest shopping destinations through Dec. 13. The pop-up boutique showcased Dior’s current shoes, bags and costume jewelry, in addition to Reyle’s standout accessory collection, which played with colors and bold, freestyle interpretations.

On Tuesday, Nov. 29 Dior held a fabulous VIP dinner hosted by Almine Rech and Larry Gagosian for the fashion-forward and friends of the brand. Held in the space next door to the pop-up shop, the Miami Guild helped to create a 3D installation above the dinner with Reyle’s pink camouflage design projected onto Zaha Hadid’s permanent installation.

Notable attendees included Pharrell Williams, Delphine Arnault, Stefano Tonchi, Camille Miceli, Dasha Zhukova, Laure Hériard Dubreuil, Aaron Young, Virginie Mouzat, Wendi Murdoch, Olympia Scarry, Fabiola Beracasa, Michael and Eva Chow, Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, Giovanna Battaglia, Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis and Gabrielle Union.

Dior kept the festivities going even after the Basel-goers left town. The team threw yet another soiree in the pop-up boutique Dec. 6, complete with manicures, makeovers, and styling sessions. Haute Living’s own Jilian Sanz was selected to divvy out fashion secrets and styling Miami’s hautest in Reyle’s collection.
