The weather is shaping up to be wet and gloomy this weekend and if you find yourself in need of a pick-me-up, might I recommend brunch? There’s nothing better than a cozy egg dish enjoyed in a happening restaurant with bottomless mimosas (or a Bloody Mary!) and good company. Two relatively new restaurants are launching brunch this weekend, and a popular urban winery is debuting its brunch as well—your guide to the deliciousness below.

Doppio Zero is a new Italian hot spot in Hayes Valley. Their brunch is Saturday and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and starts tomorrow. Breakfast pizzas are the thing at Doppio Zero and there are three different ones to choose from: smoked salmon with cream cheese, creme fraiche, capers, onions, cherry tomatoes, and arugula; four seasons with ham, mushroom, artichoke, salami, and a sunnyside egg; and Nutella pizza with strawberries and powdered sugar. Other brunch favorites include eggs Benedict and a frittata of the day.

Over in the Marina on Union Street, Kaiyo specializes in the unique blend of Japanese and Peruvian food known as Nikkei cuisine. Their weekend brunch is 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Start things off with a drink—Kaiyo offers eight different specialty cocktails for brunch including a rum and cold brew coffee concoction and a gin, yuzu, cava creation. Indulge in oysters on the half shell, chicken and savory scallion and sesame waffles, or passionfruit soaked French toast.

Tank18 is an urban winery and event space in SoMa. This Sunday, January 13 executive chef Brandon Cavazos is introducing brunch. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., diners can enjoy a variety of dishes that showcase Japanese technique, Italian soul, and American ingredients. Items are meant to be shared and include seared polenta cake with white beans, grilled okra, and pickled onion, skirt steak and eggs with marbled potato hash and chimichurri, and grilled cheese with ham, kimchi, and cured egg. Three different Bloody Marys are on the menu, and there are beer and wine specials. Cheers!
