Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Met Gala is pioneered to raise funds for the museum's Costume Institute. With an emphasis on costume lies the yearly excitement of seeing how the hottest celebrities take to the eye-catching theme assigned.

In continuation of 2021's voyage into American style, here's how the most influential fashion houses and celebrity makeup artists embarked on creating the perfect "In America: A Fashion Anthology," or the "Gilded Glamour" masterpieces. Are you ready to set sail into the Met Gala's 2022 beauty looks? Let the exploration begin!

Along with her stunning cream gown is her simple yet sophisticated makeup look. For this year's look, Alexa Chung was glammed by celebrity makeup artist Charlotte Day in sponsorship with minimalist makeup, CODE8. To match the "sense of old age glamour," Day wanted to evoke, she used dark brown shades from the Iconoclast Eyeshadow Palette in Lustrous Corduroy combined with a small stroke of eyeliner and tons of mascara for a bold but classy effect. Topping off Alexa's makeup look was the use of bold red lipstick and a Matte Velour Powder.

Once again, Chloë Grace Moretz is gracing us with her presence at the Met Gala. Wearing all things Vuitton, Pureology Global Artistic Ambassador and Celebrity Hairstylist Gregory Russell decided to go the low ponytail route, which is always a great choice. To achieve the perfect low ponytail, Russell started on Chloe's damp hair with a mix of Smooth Perfecting Smoothing Lotion and Style + Protect Weightless Volume Moose and ended with Style + Protect Lock It Down Hairspray. Adding to what looks like a pixie-cut look, Russel "then added a black grosgrain ribbon as a final touch and homage to the theme of Gilded Age."

Onto her all-natural makeup look, makeup artist Mai Quynh used the holistic wellness brand Naturopathica line of products. The combination of products revealed the star's radiant skin that worked as an exquisite base to accomplish Qunyh's vision to "keep the makeup on theme but with a modern twist by keeping the skin radiant and natural with accents of soft colors painted throughout."

Lizzo

Lizzo must be feeling good as hell after her celebrity makeup artist, Alexx Mayo took to her red carpet skincare prep and look with the DERMAFLASH line of products. To achieve "flashed" skin, and nothing but a glowing look for Lizzo, her prep began with clean dry skin and the lowest setting of the DERMAFLASH LUXE. After gently using the product on Lizzo's skin, Mayo used the post-flash to soothe and prep for the perfect skincare application. In total calling for a hair toss, check my nails moment.

Daisy Edgar-Jones

Star of Under the Banner of Heaven, Daisy Edgar-Jones made the Met Gala her dance floor, literally. Dressed in her disco-styled Oscar de la Renta gown, it was only appropriate that celebrity makeup artist Vincent Oquendo went all things electric with her makeup. To create Edgar-Jones' groovy look, Oquendo used Shiseido's Kajal InkArtist Liner in shade Birodo Green on her lash line (smudged as a base), a Pop Powder Gel Eye Shadow in shade 16 Zawa-Zawa Green, Kajal InkArtist Liner in shade Nippon Noir in the waterline and a whole lot more.

Jack Harlow

Although makeup was not needed here, that did not stop this celeb from getting red carpet ready. Like Gabrielle Union, Jack Harlow resorted to the NEW TheraFace PRO. Harlow experienced a one-on-one with Therabody experts who treated him to an all-in-one facial health therapy session. From using the skin-toning microcurrent to rejuvenating light therapy attachment, Harlow's relaxing Therabody massage was able to unlock his skin's greatest potential!

Emily Ratajkowski

Whether you've recently read her New York Times Best Selling book My Body or watched her strut the runway in the Versace Fall 2022 Milan Fashion Week show, Emily Ratajkowski is well-known for apparent reasons. At this year's Met Gala, Ratajkowski worked with the iconic celebrity makeup artist Gucci Westman. Westman utilized Noble Panacea's Brilliant Collection to prepare for her luminous look, which will once again go down in history.

Hailey Bieber

Hailey Bieber rode solo to the Met Gala this year. Fans might have been curious about prince charming, husband Justin Bieber's whereabouts, but from the moment she stepped foot on the carpet, her presence dominated. Hailey wore a beautiful white gown by Saint Laurent's Anthony Vaccarello and was glammed by makeup artist Nina Park. Before Met Monday, Bieber like other Met Gala attendees (Winnie Harlow, Madison Beer, and Lori Harvey), prepped her skin at the luxurious Vanessa Marc Spa. To achieve the ultimate glow, she was treated with the Gold Caviar Facial designed exclusively for her.

Elizabeth Debicki

Elizabeth Deicki could have been the best-dressed star at the Met Gala 2022, and there's no doubt about it. Known for her Supporting Role in the classic The Great Gatsby film, it does not come as a surprise that Decicki turned Princess for the night. Her makeup look by Gita Bass was elegant but simple, using all Dior Beauty products. For her hair, hairstylist Ryan Trygstad at Mark Ryan Salon in New York pulled inspiration from "Princess of Narnia meets Great Gatsby," allotting for her stunning wavy hairstyle and a gold headband for the final touch.

Miranda Kerr

From the red lips to the slick and chick low bun, Kerr used celebrity makeup and hair artist Ericka Verrett on behalf of ILIA Beauty.

Verrett's goal was to create a "look to represent Miranda's lifestyle...," classically timeless, which he succeeded with the help of ILIA's clean beauty products, specifically the ILIA Multi-Stick, the Necessary Eyeshadow Pallette, and the Limitless Lash Mascara, to name a few.

Shalom Harlow

Shalom Harlow is a supermodel indeed. At first glance, her red carpet look embodies all things bold, sleek and red. To create this look, celebrity makeup artist Lisa Houghton prepped her skin with luxurious Agent Nateur products. Starting with Holi (cleanse) Cleansing Face Oil and finishing it off with the Holi (glow) Ageless Eye Serum, the combination of pure products called for a "Gilded Glamour" moment.
