Non-Surgical Facelifts

Many patients assume that a face lift procedure will be expensive, require invasive plastic surgery, and only be useful for those who are “of a certain age.” However, thanks to non-surgical face lift techniques, patients can experience transformative anti-aging treatments that improve the look and feel of skin with virtually no downtime required. From those in their 30’s and upward, our patients rely on non-surgical face lift treatments to reduce the appearance of acne scars, improve elastin and collagen production, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and prevent sagging skin or age related volume loss from the midface to the jawline.

As the name implies, a non-surgical facelift is a procedure that rejuvenates the appearance of the face, using a range of techniques which will be presented and explained soon. Non-surgical procedures all help to create a youthful appearance without the need for invasive cosmetic surgery. Non-invasive cosmetic treatment options have soared in popularity over the past several years as they provide patients with painless, fast facial contouring treatments that lead to natural-looking results without any downtime.

There are several unique non-surgical facelift procedures in which Dr. Michele Green specializes.

Juvederm Injections

Juvederm injectable filler is one of the most popular dermal fillers in the United States. Developed by Allergan, the maker of Botox Cosmetics, the Juvederm family of fillers is a smooth injectable gel applied to the mid to deep dermal layer of the skin.

Dr. Green prescribes to a “less is more” philosophy when it comes to dermal fillers and opts for a conservative approach. This is especially true when it comes to lip injections. She only injects one syringe of Juvederm at a time in the lips and will wait two weeks to evaluate the full effect before deciding to inject more product. The key is to avoid over filling a treatment area.

Each different Juvederm dermal filler has its own unique properties and is targeted to treat different areas of the body to provide various treatment options.

Juvederm injections are applicable to the following areas of the face:

  • Lip Enhancement
  • Vertical Lip Lines
  • Corners of the Mouth
  • Marionette Lines
  • Nasolabial Area
  • Tear Trough (under eyes)
  • Chin
  • Temples
  • Hands
  • Cheeks
  • Jawline
  • Neck
  • Acne Scar
  • Surgical Scar

Sculptra Face Wrinkles

Sculptra dermal filler is a poly-L-lactic acid filler that uses an initial volumizing formulation to reduce the appearance of wrinkles on the skin. One of the key causes of fine lines and wrinkles on the face is the loss of collagen, which is a natural part of the aging process. However, sometimes this collagen loss can make us look more tired or older than our age. Over time, the poly-L-lactic acid from the Sculptra dermal filler stimulates natural collagen in the body, which leads to long-lasting results at and around the treatment area.

This is an FDA-approved injectable that uses a synthetic, biocompatible formulation to improve the appearance of depressions like nasolabial folds (also known as “smile lines”) and marionette lines, as well as scars, skin folds, stretch marks, and hallows on the body and face. In terms of facial contouring, Sculptra can be used to contour the jawline, as well as the area around the mouth, restoring age-related sagging or volume loss.

Restylane Lyft

Restylane Lyft is an HA filler (hyaluronic acid) filler treatment that is specifically tailored for use on the midface, around the jowls, chin, mouth, and hands. With Restylane, patients can experience restored facial volume, which in turn creates all-over skin rejuvenation by reducing the appearance of deeper lines and wrinkles at or near the injection site. Restylane Lyft is also formulated with a small amount of a lidocaine, which is a local anesthetic, in order to reduce any potential discomfort during treatment of this injectable.

Vivace Microneedling

Vivace Microneedling is one of the newest FDA-approved cosmetic procedures that has been released. This non-surgical treatment is a combination of two other forms of therapy, microneedling, and radio frequency (RF) energy. As an expert in non-invasive cosmetic procedures, Dr. Michele Green can reverse age-related skin changes through Vivace microneedling in her discreet, private NYC dermatology office.

Vivace Microneedling is an excellent option for skin tightening, as well as for improving skin texture and acne scars.  Vivace Microneedling is frequently used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and can also help to minimize and reduce pore size, boosting the overall health of the skin. Due to the combination radiofrequency microneedling treatment that Vivace offers, Vivace can be used to safely improve a wide range of skin tones and skin issues and is sensitive enough to treat all skin types.

Thermage® Treatment

Thermage is the only procedure that helps tighten and contour your skin in a single treatment, no surgery, no injections and no downtime. Thermage can stimulate the body’s natural renewal process by encouraging the production of collagen to create subtle, natural looking results throughout the face and body.

You could expect the treatment to take between an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the location of the body and size of the treated area; larger areas may take a bit longer. The treatment is entirely pain free.

Before the procedure, a grid is outlined on your face or body to delineate the treated area. During the procedure, the handheld device is pressed repeatedly onto the outlined area of your skin. As the adaptor touches your skin, you will feel both the quick sensation of heat and a cooling sensation. The heating sensation is a sign that the deep layers of your skin are reaching effective temperatures for tightening.

You’ll immediately have a “glow” or plumping of the skin. Thermage requires no downtime, so you can resume all of your normal activities right away after treatment. There is no recovery period or special post-treatment care needed after your appointment.
