She might be a world-famous, Grammy-winning rapper who enjoys a glamorous lifestyle with husband Offset, but despite her high-profile career, Cardi B is simply a mom who just gave birth to her second baby. Since welcoming her son on Sept. 4, the 28-year-old “WAP” singer has gradually opened up about her “weird postpartum hormones” and changing body.

Can’t wait till these weird postpartum hormones completely leave my body. I be crying for no reason,” Cardi wrote in a recent tweet. Although she has yet to confirm, the rapper might be experiencing postpartum depression (PPD). According to the March of Dimes, PPD is a medical condition that provokes strong feelings of sadness, anxiety and fatigue in women after having a baby. It affects up to 1 in 7 women and requires treatment in order to get better.

Despite her increased hormone levels, Cardi B made her first post-baby appearance earlier this week. She impressed fans on Tuesday by walking the red carpet in a grandiose ruby-colored sequin gown by Thierry Mugler.

Indeed, her stunning post-baby figure had fans wondering whether Cardi got work done to her body. “Everybody is like ‘Cardi you so snatched, what did you do? You did lipo? You had a tummy tuck?’” she said in her Instagram Stories. “You cannot do surgery after you give birth — especially me, I lost so much blood, guys. One day, I'm going to talk to you guys about my crazy-ass delivery.” According to the March of Dimes, it’s normal to lose blood after giving birth. In fact, some women lose half a quart amid vaginal birth while others lose about one quart for a c-section.

Cardi continued speaking about her postpartum appearance on her Instagram Stories as she revealed her reflection in a full-length mirror. “You know I like to be real with you guys,” she said. “And that's because my skin is still loose and I still got a little pouchy-pouch right here.” With that, the singer shut down the societal pressure levied on women to quickly bounce back to their pre-baby bodies following childbirth: “Take y'all f—king time! It's really hard dealing with kids, especially after you do two kids.”

This is the second child for Cardi B and Offset, as the couple already share a 3-year-old daughter named Kulture. The name of their son is yet to be revealed, but the pair may likely share this information with fans later on social media. For now, the couple seem thrilled to add a new member to their family. “We are so overjoyed to finally meet our son,” they told People. “He is already loved so much by family and friends and we can't wait to introduce him to his other siblings.”
