My greatest achievement:

Raising three wonderful daughters.

The future of my field is:

The elimination of noticeable scarring after surgery and trauma.

The biggest misconception about my field is:

That all Plastic Surgeons or those that call themselves one have equal talent.

My most requested procedures are:

Breast and body rejuvenation so which includes breast augmentations, breast lifts, abdominoplasties, liposuction, BBL, Brachioplasties etc.

The most exciting advancement in plastic surgery:

Fat grafting. Improving survival of grated fat cells will lead to more predictable results. I am also very excited about skin tightening technology such as RENUVION which together with liposuction techniques can shrink loose areas that could only be treated previously with skin excision.

I am best known for:

Two published procedures I developed, one called AMBRA which stands for Augmentation Mammaplasty by Reverse Abdominoplasty. It involves taking the fat from the upper tummy and augmenting the breasts with it while simultaneously tightening the tummy by a “reverse” tummy tuck. The other is called TABA standing for Transabdominal Breast Augmentation which allows breast implants to be placed through the tummy tuck incision during abdominoplasty providing total mommy makeover without any scars on the breast. These are both published in our major journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

My most memorable patient reaction:

Occurred in February in India. I repaired a cleft lip with a large hemangioma on a lady who had lived her whole life being deformed. No surgeons would operate on her because of the hemangioma and the risk of severe bleeding. We accomplished resection of her tumor and repaired her cleft lip and she was restored to the beauty nature had deprived her of til then. Her adult daughter and sons cried with joy upon seeing her in the recovery room. She returned a week later to address a large audience thanking Rotaplast for her surgery. (Can provide pictures)

What sets my practice apart:

Is the experience of being treated like a family member. I really mean it. All of the caregivers in our practice share a common trait of dedication to providing the best care possible for our patients.

What I love most about my profession:

Is the training given to repair virtually any problem with the greatest attention to minimizing the visibility of scars and deformities. That includes every area of the body!

Career defining procedure?

A Police captain from Virginia had 2/3 of his biceps and upper third of the humerus removed from his firing hand right arm for cancer via a Tikoff- Linberg procedure. An orthopedic surgeon I worked with replaced the shoulder joint and upper humerus with a cadaver graft and prosthetic shoulder joint. I took a Tensor Fascia lata muscle from his opposite leg and transplanted it with microsurgery to the upper arm along with the fascia to wrap around the prosthesis. In 6 months he requalified in the firing range and could do a biceps curl with a 50lb dumbbell. He returned to full duty as a Police Captain.

We are excited to offer:

A wonderful new associate, Dr. Jonathan Brower, fresh from his fellowship training in Body contouring at the University of Pittsburgh. Jon was one of my favorite residents I helped train at Brown University. He is joined by a dynamic, bilingual, Spanish speaking nurse Gina Felix. We have, in the last 6 months, employed an outstanding new facial injector Michael Anthony, RN who has more 5 star reviews than you can imagine. Our newest technologies include Mira Dry that offers permanent sweat gland elimination for excessive perspiration problems with a comfortable, in-office procedure. Lastly, we are having special success with Renuvion, a radio-frequency/ Helium subcutaneous treatment for skin tightening that has applications all over the body from tummies to medial thighs to especially arms to tighten loose skin without having to surgically remove it.
