EleVen by Venus Williams is one of the most recent brands to join the clean beauty movement. Originally created as a women’s activewear brand, EleVen is now expanding to sun care products alongside their partner and fellow clean beauty brand, Credo Beauty. The inspiration for sun care lines comes from Williams’s personal struggle in finding sun protection that complemented her active lifestyle and skin tone.
Combining her passion for wellness and incorporation of holistic lifestyle components, Williams aspired to include these important aspects of her life into her new SPF line. The brand itself focuses on the relentless pursuit of your best self and wants to inspire others to get outside, be active and stay healthy. Their main purpose, however, is to provide sun protection for all skin types and skin shades. Mineral SPF is notorious for being difficult to formulate without leaving behind a chalky cast and Williams ensured that her new mineral SPF was appropriate for all skin tones, including more melanated shades.

The collection itself includes a variety of tinted lip-balms that come in five different shades: 15 Love – a clear shade, Power Player – a sheer pink, Game Day – a sheer berry, and Venus – a vivid, wearable red. Each lip balm has an SPF 15, giving its users silky hydration and serious sun protection. The formula includes Shea Butter for moisturization, Bayberry Fruit Wax to soothe and soften, as well as 100% mineral UVA/UVB protection.
For skincare, the collection includes the Unrivaled Sun Serum with SPF 35 which combines skincare and mineral sun protection. Providing long-lasting hydration while calming and soothing the skin, this multi-tasking serum is a great final addition before applying make-up, leaving the skin with a demi-matte glow. The On-The-Defense Sunscreen with SPF 30, a sheer mineral sunscreen, also serves as a perfect addition to everyday skincare. The dermatologist-approved sunscreen provides lightweight hydration and blends easily into the skin, leaving a semi-matte, non-chalky finish.
